You would think we would get use to these sort of things...

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever. The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever: And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever: With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever: And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever: But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever: And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever: And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever: Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever: And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

I couldn't choose just one verse so I decided to share them all, this passage was such a blessing to me this morning, I hope it will also be a blessing to you. May we marvel and the wonder and might of our God, because His mercy endureth forever!

What a morning!! We set off to go to the other orphanage  we arrived at the gate half an hour later, but were told that officials were there, so they asked if we could come back in an hour.....
Well it wasn't quite safe to sit and wait in that neighborhood, so we hopped back on the bus and headed to kill time at the mall, but the mall didn't open for another hour! So we walked around the block....checked out a little bakery, but they didn't have any bread so we settled on an ice cream bar! Finally it was time to head back! So we hopped aboard the bus, feeling quite satisfied we had figured out the whole bus thing! We were saving money! But there was a guy on the bus with a boombox and he was passing out cds trying to sell them, well it must have distracted us both because suddenly Natasha says, did we go to far? We start looking around and don't even know where we are! So we hop off, cross the street and wait for a bus going back! I can't believe we missed our stop! We have never done that, well until today! So finally we get back to the orphanage but they are still there, I had a feeling they would be! Officials are always there all day, and besides this is Ecuador! There is no way they would be gone quickly! So we hopped back on the bus, again...... so after two taxi rides and five bus rides before 11 am we were back to where we started! Its quite a feeling to be locked out of a gate....but one of my favorite little boys came running up to the gate to say Hola! It was totally worth the whole morning to see his smiling face and excitement!

I don't know if someday's are worse for us being noticed in the crowds or if some days we are more self conscience about it, but today I was totally tired of being whistled at, stared at, hollered at, and one guy walked by me making kissing sounds! really?

But the afternoon didn't get anymore dull.....I was boiling some dried corn after lunch but forgot about it, so I am resting in bed and suddenly Natasha is leaning out of the kitchen window hollering BRIANNA!!! so I jump out of bed and out the door, I go by the kitchen window and realize what is going on. The house is full of smoke and reaks.... I would definitely say smelling smoke is not one of Natasha strong points....So we cleaned up the mess and left the doors open for a couple of hours but it still smelled distinctly of burnt corn this evening.

So when we headed back to the orphanage, we arrive at the gate but all the stickers of where to ring were gone. Well we don't know which button to push and there is 6. So I start ringing one by one, no answer, no answer, Hola, in an unfamiliar voice...I think this is not the right one but since I got an answer, "lapuerta por favor", he didn't open it, so I try again, and I got the office! So in we went! I had another busy afternoon in the office!

By the time I was finished, I wasn't feeling the best so I went to find Natasha to get the keys to head home, but I ran into a tia instead and she asked how I was doing. Well I could say bien, but then she would wonder why I left and didn't stay to help so I decided to tell the truth and say my stomach was bothering me. So she had to make me a remedy to drink.....

Natasha came in then and I told her what was going on and all she could do was laugh! So then the tias had to figure out what was wrong and apparently its because we eat to much beans and they can make you stomach feel heavy, sore and uneasy...

So I drank it down it smelled like pizza because of all the oregano, but it tasted like salt and something else.....there was so much oregano in the bottom I had to chew it! All I could say was "no que rico!" and everybody laughed! Because I didn't know the affects of drinking the concoction I decided to head for home anyway.....but I have to say my stomach was feeling better this evening!
