Welcome to Latacunga!!

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. Acts 16:25

Our morning snapshots..... Natasha always points my eyes up to the sky and it never gets old!

This morning after church and lunch we headed out to Latacunga! So with 3 bags on my shoulders we hit the first trole, it started pouring, hailing, thundering and lightning! We were standing in the middle trying to dodge rain drops where it leaked. There was a stroller parked their with a blanket over it, but no one was paying any attention to it! I thought it was strange, so I kept an eye on it. But then this lady goes up and pulls the blanket off and it was full of plastic bottles! They must have been collecting it to recycle, because they had a backpack full of them too! We arrived at the trole station and of course we had to cross the street but with all the rain, I lost my flip flop in the street....but recovered it and got out of the road in time! I then put on my tennis shoes! So we hopped on to a crowded trole and watched our bags like hawks but someone did check out my back pocket, but I didn't have anything in there! So we arrived at the bus station and bought our ticket to Latacunga, but they told us to run...so we ran through this huge station trying to find the bus with all these bags! O it was crazy but we arrived on time, and set off an another adventure....

I fell asleep on the bus for about an hour and when I woke up their was two guys standing right next to me, and he is leaning against my seat so he is like right in my face! So every time we go around a corner he bumps into me then we keeps swinging his elbows and it just misses my face! I was thinking I fell asleep to early, I should have waited awhile, but they got off after a few stops .

After 3 hours on the bus we hopped off to walk to the grocery store but we had to walk a couple blocks with all these bags, and I don't think it was to safe! I had my laptop with so I wasn't very comfortable the whole time.... but we got some groceries, and after trying our several ATMs we finally found one that would work! When we were going to get grocieys we walked by a couple a boys and they hollered out in English "don't leave me!" Those are the moments that we don't speak English, we start talking in Spanish to each other! So we hopped in a taxi and set out for the orphanage. But the driver didn't know how to get there so he stops on this back street, and hops out to find some help...umm its dark out here and we are in this car......but once again, God watched over us! He got his directions and after a long day we arrived at the orphanage at 7:30 pm! The tias didn't know we were coming but they welcomed us with open arms, loving faces and kind words! We felt once again like we were coming home! I have very much come to appreciate the feeling of the gate closing with me on the inside! So they showed us our living quarters and we met a couple that we will be staying with. They are from Minnesota!! So after a long day, being concerned over all our stuff, and being a little stressed out about getting here, it was a little overwhelming to be surrounded by such loving caring people! Thank you God, for so many blessing!!

I have met so many amazing people while I have been here! We had a couple from Canada join us here in Ecuador for two weeks. I very much enjoyed spending time with them and getting to know them! I am so excited to see what God has in store for them as they are starting out on this new exciting journey. Waiting on the Lord.... Please join me in praying for this couple as they seek God with their whole hearts.

Here is their blog...I went back and read it from the very beginning, they were preparing for their missions trip for over a year, and God definitely blessed their faithfulness and commitment!

Ecuador Escapades: Ecuador-Quito (Day 9): Gorgeous views everywhere! Woke up early again, no sleeping in! It’s neat to compare this to being back home and wa.
