One long last Friday....

When I was jumping out of bed this morning I had no idea what the day was going to hold....or I might have jumped back in!

So I started the morning feeding the toddlers... we had a grand ole time! (Whenever the tias were not watching, that is!) They were full of energy and fun without much urge to eat. But we managed to get enough down to make the tias happy!

Then I had to stop in and play with the babies...just because! They are all doing much better! All I noticed were some runny noses. So we took some photos....

haha fish lips...

so handsome!

pretty girl...

sleepy..

I use to be shocked when I walked into a room with 6 babies laying on the floor playing....but now its just normal.....

haha I love these big eyes!

Then Tanya, two tias and I headed to the lab to get blood drawn from 3 babies and 1 toddler. Of course we took the bus...but we are getting to be pros at this...but it makes quite a site! Two North Americans, two Ecuadorians and 4 babies. Many people stop to stare....in a barber shop a lady and a man were watching us, then as we walk by I hear a clunk on the glass so I turn to look and the man had walked across the barber shop and put his head against the glass to watch....I laughed!

We arrived and we didn't have to wait to long! they sent me with one baby into get her blood drawn, the doctor was so nice and gentle! But he was not wearing gloves! He filled two syringes with blood...poor baby, but she didn't even cry! So when everyone was finished up we headed for home! We went to get on the bus, but the step was extremely high! Tanya was struggling to get up it! She was holding on to the bars trying to pull herself up with the toddler strapped to the front of her in a front pack. Then the strap breaks so the toddler just about goes down on his head! So we both gasp, but toddler was fine! We get on the bus and everyone is staring at us and we start laughing! O my goodness....

Then we pull out bottles to feed the babies ....so I am holding a bottle in one hand and a baby in the other, then her hat fall off on my arm that has the bottle, I was trying to rescue is so it wouldn't hit the ground so I twist my arm to try to get it to fall on the tias lap but the bottle gets tipped so its spraying milk all over..... and of course I was laughing! I thought that the tias would replace me and not take me in public anymore! So we arrived home with no more mishaps!

I took a tottering toddler for a long walk outside, it was such a lovely day! I was just about to load up the wagon and take them all for a walk but.....

She wasn't to much into walking today...

I love this face!

I love these hugs! I have never knows a toddler that could give such amazing hugs!

Trouble....these two are the ringleaders!

Then they asked me to accompany some of the older children to the doctor...so off I went again! But when we got to the doctor (and the taxi charged us $3! way to much!) I don't really know why but we couldn't go in....so we headed back home!

The toddlers were having a late lunch so I helped them finish up then planned to head home for a quick lunch and be back to the office in half an hour....but when I  got to the house the door knob was locked....I don't have a key for the knob, just the bolt! So I went off and found my landlady's granddaughter and asked if by any chance she had the key, so she did a search...... found some keys but none of them were right! So she called her grandmother and apparently there is no key.... Some men were working on the internet and when they left locked the knob. So we tried the front door but of course the bolt was closed, so it can only be opened from the inside! This lady is very worried about being robbed.... she takes every precaution but it seems like the only ones locked out are the ones that need to get in! Well I wasn't to worried about anything else, but I had a very important gift that needed to get to the orphanage in the afternoon! So we stalked the outside of the house trying to come up with another way to get in! When finally we spotted an open window!  But of course it was behind metal bars so we got a broken screw driver and started to work on it! We got all but two screws out, they just wouldn't budge! So another granddaughter came back with a pocket knife screwdriver...well it worked better then the one we were using! We got the last two screws out! We pulled off the window bars and the little one slipped in and unlocked the door! and it had only taken me an hour to get into the house! But praise the Lord, I was able to get the gift and everything looked perfectly fine when my landlady returned this evening! It made the granddaughters day though! She kept saying, I have never broke into a house like this! This is so exciting, O this is so much fun! Well...I'm glad she enjoyed herself, it made me not feel so bad about her having to help me!

So I had lunch and I was able to talk to my nephew quick! He is very, very excited about me "coming off the plane", yes, he thinks I have been on an airplane this whole time! He isn't quite sure its going to happen though.... he didn't talk to much just kept his eyes on me. I am very excited to him! as he will be when he lays eyes on me! He still hasn't figured out the whole airplane thing!

So then I spent some time with our "miss A" and gave her, her gift! She was very excited, and couldn't believe it was actually all for her! We had a very wonderful time and she drew me a picture to show her appreciation!

She was so excited!

and so thankful! She kept asking, is this for me? just for me? all of this?

Can you tell which one is her and which is me?? I love my hair! :)

Then the tias asked me to join in on another doctors appointment! Taking the same children as we had earlier! So off we went again, (this time it was $1.50, much better!) and we waited and waited and waited! We left the orphanage around 2:30 and we didn't get back until about 6:30! The clinic is only 20 minutes away! We seen some crazy sites again! But it all adds to Ecuador....what can I say? I love it here! :)

Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15
