And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:14
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
These verses have given me strength, encouragement and even reminded me why I am here! I have been so encouraged by the prayers, notes, and encouragement I have received from so many! Even those that I hardly know, but are true brothers and sisters in Christ! May God richly bless each one of you and I pray that He would draw each one of you closer to Himself!
This morning......
Well after we had been awake for one hour I knew what my moment of the day was! So we walk to the gate at the orphanage, and Natasha rings, I walk up behind her and she says, O the little door is already open! Ok, so I go to walk through it and she says, Wait! they are going to talk to us over the speaker, I already rang! So I stop and she tells the tia's we are there, so they start opening gate, so we go into shock mode! the little door opens the opposite way so its going to jam....and what if it ruins the motor?? So I stand there with mouth open wide, waiting to see what is going to happen...But Natasha, is running around, doing a freaking out dance, trying to pull on the gate so it won't jam and not really sure what else she was doing! So she goes off running to the baby house to tell the tias. Meanwhile I am standing there watching.... Since the gate is open about two feet, I walk through and watch.. The motor is still running then it stops...then its starts to close...so I think great! I will just close the little door when it comes out far enough and all will be well! :) not quite before it got out far enough it started to open again and I had to watch the whole jamming process again! So Natasha comes running out again and asked if I fixed it? No, so back into the house she goes! I stand there watching and it does the whole thing again! I can't watch this anymore!! So I go to the house and a tia goes out to the gate with a remote and fixes it! yah!! Bless her heart! We were so thankful and relieved we didn't ruin the gate! Especially Natasha! :) Yes, I'm sure you can just imagine two frantic girl's running around an orphanage gate in Quito at 6:45 am!
A group from Atlanta, arrived today, so we has a little free time this morning, so we took the time to walk around our new little neighborhood, and Natasha gave me a Spanish lesson! Ok, she does that everyday all day long! But this was official! It was very beneficial! It put together quite a few pieces for me! But I still have a long way to go!
Were we are living now!
These look like giant milkweeds! But no fear, I broke off a petal and its not!
This is our land lady's house....
This is a neighbors house, there is 4 houses within our gated community (I don't know what else to call it!) and some buildings under constructions.
I don't know what these are, but they look like they are growing upside down!
Yes, right there by the ivy is our door! We are both trying to get use to the whole locking thing! We have like 5 keys to use before we leave the premises in the morning! So one stays behind to lock up the house while the other, goes to start unlocking the big house (where the kitchen is) and before its all said and done we unlock the gate and head out! Its quite a process!
This is our view!
This afternoon........back with the baby's! We definitely spend more time with the baby's but they often need more help there with feeding bottles and such. They really appreciate having some people they can depend on to help with the baby's. Natasha's Spanish comes in really handy!
This little princess just arrived a few day's ago! She is only 4 lbs. she is so tiny!!
This little guy is so entertaining! He is just so content to be just who God made him! He is so special!
I even pulled out a couple books and practiced my Spanish reading skills! I didn't know but a tia was behind listening....I think she was impressed! But my mouth was sore! Its like playing twister in your mouth!
That's his smile! there is no half way with him!
Then there is this one! When he is sad, everyone is sad and when he smiles, everyone laughs! He definitely has a very special gift!
The tias never cease to amaze me! They work long hours often coming in special to take children to doctors appointments, filling in for someone who is sick, many times they stay around the clock to take care of these children, when they have family's at home! Yet, they always do their best to make these children feel loved and wanted!
