close to home

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

I have been reading the Cross Centered Life, by C.J. Mahaney. So I have been thinking a lot on the gospel, then this morning the message was on salvation and the grace of God. It was so refreshing, and a wonderful reminder!

So we were headed to dinner after church, and the taxi driver didn't know where the road was, and all we had was written instructions! So we asked him to ask the police, where this road was, they said down a block so we paid the taxi driver and set out to walk! Well we get down the block and their was 5 police men, so we asked them where this road was, they were unsure and had different opinions, so one took off on his motorcycle to find it for us! So he took off with our instructions! Finally he comes back and sends us back the way we came, with instructions to go down a couple more blocks! Half way their we met the tia, apparently she was waiting for us in front of her house and the police officer told her there were two american's trying to get there! Nothing surprises me anymore! So we had dinner with the tia who took us out yesterday, we met most of their family, had a wonderful dinner, and learned more about them and Ecuadorian culture. It was so special! They are such a wonderful family, so loving and genuine! They made sure we felt welcome and told us to feel like we are at home! They have such a beautiful home, and she told us of how God blessed them with it. They call it God's house and use it to bless others. She has such a servant's heart, it was almost overwhelming! But after much asking, we finally were able to help with dishes, which made us very thankful we could show our appreciation in a small way!

So they insisted on driving us home, so we wouldn't have to get a taxi! So as we neared home, we started digging through our bags to find the keys, not finding them... Finally I feel them in the lining of my bag (I bought it at the market yesterday), so I pull everything out the bag and I am searching for a hole in the lining, but I'm not finding one! So tia takes it and she is looking, (Natasha and I are laughing in the back seat) and finally after about 5 minuets, I remember the pocket in the front and sure enough! There was a hole in the pocket so we fished the keys out! Yep, nothing would surprise me anymore! We didn't even get embarrassed..... wow time sure changes things! When we get back to the states, nothing will embarrass us!

They had a beautiful view from their house, we were able to walk up on the roof!

It was so cloudy!

I think Natasha and I have almost reached the highest level of friendship, we started sharing clothes.....
