Daddy has a plan....

Well I wrote this post on Wednesday but didn't have internet so I posted it on Thursday but somehow is only posted the title and lost the rest so I am going to do my best to redo it.... so here goes...

Wednesday....

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for they pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

This excerpt from "Reckless Faith" a book I had mentioned earlier in my blog, has stuck with me! I often think of it as I am taking care of these precious children!

It is a young orphaned mother who has to give up her child, here she is saying goodbye...

"I am sorry I was born this way, she tells him. I am sorry I don't have a mama to help take care of you. I am sorry i won't see you again ... Then she leans closer and whispers in his ear. But our Daddy has a plan. her voice falters at first but grows stronger as she continues. He has a plan to rescue you. He has a plan to come to you. He has a plan to hear you. He has a plan to make you a home....He has a plan.

Then she kisses his cheek and hands him over."

So as I spend these last few precious morning holding the babies, my heart aching because I have to leave them, yet I know the God that is providing and caring for these precious little ones. Daddy has a plan for them and He has a plan for me. He brought me here, taught me, changed me, and has stretched me....and I know that He a plan for me at home. I know that He has a plan for these precious little ones, He is providing, caring and delivering these precious little ones. So as I prepare to leave, I leave them in the hands of the One who truly has a plan.

I had three bottles fed and three toddlers fed before 8am  I think mornings are going to seem kinda long after this...What to do to fill the time.. I think mornings may be my favorite part of the day! I love these sweet little babies and the toddlers are such a joy!

After breakfast and all the morning routine, I went and did some errands! I am working on finishing up all the loose ends here! I think it is all coming together...just a few more things to do and projects to finish! But Lord willing, I will get them all done!

In the afternoon I worked on my photo project and scanning project and I was winding down on both of them when they came and asked me to go with to the doctors office...so I put away my things and headed out with a tia and Kathryn to take three little boys to the doctor!

Well we waited....and waited.....and waited....but finally the tia was able to get them in! I will never forget these doctor's offices! All the random people coming and going, in and out of rooms. No curtains, no privacy, taking weights, temperatures and blood pressures in the waiting room, all the doctors walking around, the pharmacy, behind a closed door with a window so you can get your prescriptions. They never cease to amaze me....they dry their hands on an actually towel... maybe because I worked in a nursing home before coming here....but I notice all the things that just would not fly!!

The Ambulance was outside trying to get the stretch inside to take someone to the hospital, but there was a car parked right next to the side door so they couldn't get in...so they are trying to figure out who's the car is so they can get it moved... So after about 15 minutes they decided just to go through the front door and take the person all the way through the clinic and around the parking lot on the stretcher....to the ambulance... meanwhile...the person is waiting to go to the hospital! How bizarre! O yes, we are in Ecuador!

So after everyone had seen the doctor, we waited for the result from a blood test....then we waited.. and waited... and waited... my little guy had fallen asleep and we had to wait outside...so I decided to head to the van where the guard was waiting for us. So it was a nice chance to practise my Spanish again! :) I'm not so good at adult conversations but he is very patient and knows some English! So we made a go of it! I'm definitely going to miss this!

So finally almost an hour later they come, but they didn't have the test results yet...I don't know how they were going to get them. Maybe they will call or something...

So we headed back to the orphanage and I fed a very fussy sick baby his supper... poor little guy was choking and coughing! All the babies seem to be doing better though...less coughing and they were all eating better and were more happy and awake! Praise the Lord!

This evening since I didn't have any internet...I did some packing! It felt so strange...hard to believe I just throw all my things in a suitcase and leave....but I know I will be taking with me all the memories, friendships and heart aches I have been blessed with during my short stay. Its a lot easier packing to go home though, everything goes! well if it all fits anyway! :)
